Sault Falls Inn History

Sault Falls Inn dates back to the mid-19th century when it was the center of the village of Braman. The Inn provided housing for the mill workers who worked at the Sault Falls Manufacturing Co., which had three mills located behind it. These mills sawed wood for building supplies, turned wood for moldings, broom handles, and rolling pins. The Inn also served as a post office and general store. Entire families were known to stay for the summer, enjoying the cool country air. In 1942 a horrible flood destroyed the mills and out buildings but left the Inn and the Braman Church standing. In 1995, the Grunn family bought and rescued the structure returning it to its rightful place in rural history.
